Richard A. Dickerscheid

mwb Richard A. Dickerscheid is a Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. He served from from 2019-2020.[1]

Personal Life

He pursued his education in the Talawanda school system, concluding with his graduation from Talawanda High School in Oxford, Ohio in 1982.

Dickerscheid married Teresa M. “Teri” Dsuban on December 1, 1984, at St. Mary’s Parrish in Oxford, Ohio. The couple has two children, Jonathan and Amanda, and three grandchildren. Dickerscheid has been employed at John Dsuban Spring Service, a well-established truck and trailer repair company, since 1988.[1]

Masonic Career

Though Dickerscheid had personal and professional connections with many Freemasons, he did not petition a Lodge until 2002. After submitting his petition to College Hill - Harry S. Johnson Lodge No. 641, he received the Entered Apprentice Degree in November 2002, passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft in December 2002, and was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 16, 2003. Following this, he served in the roles of Senior Steward, Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, and Senior Warden, respectively. In 2008, Dickerscheid was elected and served as Worshipful Master.

Further extending his service, Dickerscheid served as President of the "Wild Bunch Degree Assistance Team", a group that assists with Fellow Craft Team duties when a lodge requires help. He later joined the First Masonic District Officers Association, eventually being elected President in 2013. Subsequent to his tenure as president, he was invited by MWB Norman J. Mick to serve as a District Deputy Grand Master of the First Masonic District in 2014.

Dickerscheid served as Most Wise Master of the Cincinnati Chapter of Rose Croix, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, from 2016 to 2017, and received the 33° in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the fall of 2019. He holds memberships in Cumminsville Chapter No. 158, R.A.M., Hubert O. Auburn Council No. 149, R&SM, Cincinnati Commandery No. 3, Knights Templar, St. Columba Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine. Additionally, he is part of the Society of Past Masters of Cincinnati and Vicinity, National Sojourners Cleveland Chapter No. 23, Marvin Chapter No. 376, Order of Eastern Star, and the Syrian Shrine, where he has served as a Steward and an Ambassador. In September 2019, Dickerscheid was honored with the DeMolay Legion of Honor, a distinction given to those demonstrating exceptional leadership in various fields.

In October 2014, at the Grand Lodge of Ohio Annual Communication in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dickerscheid was invited by MWB Norman J. Mick to serve the Grand Lodge of Ohio. He was appointed to the position of Senior Grand Deacon by MWB Steven Cokonougher, Grand Master of Masons in Ohio. Following this appointment, he was designated as Grand Marshal and Grand Orator, then elected Junior Grand Warden in Dayton in 2017, Senior Grand Warden in Sandusky in 2018, and Deputy Grand Master at Marietta in 2019. He was bestowed the honor of being elected to serve the Brethren of Ohio as Grand Master, with his installation taking place in Wilmington on October 23, 2020.[2]
