Douglas N. Kaylor
mwb Douglas N. Kaylor is a Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ohio and Past Deputy of the Supreme Council for Ohio[1]. He served from from 2015-2016.[2]
Biography
Brother Kaylor's parents and grandparents were members of the Masonic fraternity. He grew up in Beavercreek Township, Greene County, participating in school activities and Scouting, eventually achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Kaylor pursued a career in higher education, serving in various positions in the libraries at Wright State University and later as the library director at Sinclair Community College for eleven years. Throughout his career, he chaired various national, state, and local library and professional society programs and projects.[2]
Kaylor married Diana Kaylor on June 24, 1989, and together they have one daughter and two grandchildren.
Masonic Career
Kaylor was raised in Alpha Lodge No. 729, on June 2, 1987, and served as Worshipful Master in 1996. His subsequent roles included a District Education Officer and District Deputy Grand Master for the Second Masonic District, initially appointed by Grand Master William P. Mayberry, Sr. Kaylor joined Dayton Lodge No. 147 in 2006 and was appointed Junior Grand Deacon of the Grand Lodge of Ohio in 2009 by Most Worshipful Brother Terry W. Posey, eventually elected as Grand Master in 2016.[2]
In addition to his Lodge affiliations, Kaylor joined the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton on April 9, 1988, and served in various offices. He was coroneted a 33° Sovereign Grand Inspector General and Honorary Member of the Supreme Council in 2007 and elected Deputy of the Supreme Council for Ohio in 2014. He retired as Deputy in 2021.[3]
Kaylor is also a member of numerous Masonic and affiliated organizations, such as the Antioch Shrine, Belmont Chapter O.E.S., and Holy Grail Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, among others. He is an honorary member of the Cleveland Chapter of National Sojourners and the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Ohio.[4]
