The Hauts Grades Academy is a Masonic research society program launched by the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction in 2018. It aims to a program designed to promote the education, knowledge, and engagement of Freemasonry through in-depth study and reflection of the 29 Northern Masonic Jurisdiction's degrees. Graduates of the program are awarded the title Hauts Grades Academic and are entitled to append the Post-nominals "HGA" after their name in Masonic correspondence and signatures.

About the Academy

The academy derives its name from the early days of the Scottish Rite degree system, dating back to eighteenth century France. The program is available to all 32°degree Scottish Rite Masons of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, free of charge and aims to advance the call for more education in Scottish Rite Freemasonry.

This educational initiative is part of The Path Forward, a much larger project implemented by the Supreme Council, created on the foundation that many members want more education in the Scottish Rite. This demand was evident in the results of a 2016 Supreme Council survey that highlighted the need for more education, engagement, and interaction among members.
