==What this Project IS==
The Lost Jewel project was created by a Master Mason in September 2017 as a resource for people to share Masonic regalia, archive historical pieces, and identify otherwise hard-to-identify jewels. Over time, the wiki became a repository of knowledge about Masonry, and has evolved into an ever-growing online encyclopedia about Masonry and Masonic subjects.

Mission
To archive information about Freemasonry, people, and Lodges so this information is not lost to the masons of tomorrow.

==What this project is NOT==
This project is similarly not a place to share the secrets of Masonry. Descriptions of symbols should be made objectively, with sources that are academic and objective. Individual users should only contribute information which is safe to do in their own jurisdiction. Some information may, at administrator discretion, be removed if it is inappropriate to the mission of the wiki.

This project is also not a place to argue recognition or regularity. This site might host pieces from a jurisdiction your Grand Lodge does not recognize. As above, the description of these pieces is academic and objective.
